Our various programs
Playgroup
We are pleased to offer a French speaking playgroup on Fridays. We organise activities in French to facilitate language development: nursery rhymes, story time and craft. The playgroup facilitator is here to help children and carers feel comfortable. Please note that the accompanying person (parent or nanny) must understand French to join our playgroup.

Preschool
Preschool classes are run like « maternelle » classes in France. Lessons last 2.5 hours and are exclusively in French. French must be spoken at home as children need to understand French at least in order to get started in Les Petites Classes.
Students are involved in a range of fun, exciting, and challenging play-based learning activities designed to develop French language by expanding their vocabulary and developing sentence syntax.
We not only develop reading readiness skills, but we also expose students to various mathematical materials to help them build early numeracy skills. Students also practice handwriting by working on correct pencil grip and by engaging in activities that develop fine motor skills.

Primary School
With classes focusing on French reading, French writing and on language conventions, primary school students are split into groups of ability.
Students attending the very first course level (usually Kindy or year 1 children) focus on meaning of texts, on phonics and language conventions. These students learn how to read and write simple sentences in French.
Throughout our primary school classes students strengthen their reading skills, write various structured texts and learn language conventions (spelling, grammar, verb forms). Books are chosen carefully to introduce French History and Geography in their French lesson.
Around 11 years old, students prepare and sit the DELF Junior A2 exam (diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) to officially validate what they are able to do in French.

High School
High School classes offer a real continuity to year 7-12 students to carry on with all the work undertaken in primary classes.
As students strengthen their reading skills, they are introduced to literary mouvements and stylistic forms. They write long texts and refine French spelling and grammar. Students deepen their knowledge in French History and Geography through the books studied in class.
Students prepare and sit the DELF exam (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) levels B1 and B2 Junior. These diplomas enable students to apply to any University in France and other French speaking countries.
We also offer an Excellence class for year 7 and 8 students. It is designed to allow students to work cross-subjects in French, Science, History and Geography, and develop strong methodological skills. This class especially caters for students aiming at completing an International Baccalaureate (IB) program in year 11-12.
Finally, our HSC and IB preparation class provides the ideal support to year 11 and 12 students and allows an individual approach to help our students perform at high standards on the day.
